Frequently Asked Questions

We have answered some of the (FAQs) frequently asked questions about Spec’s Trust Cloud. If you have additional questions, let us know.

Are you really no-code?

We really are no-code. We really make every REST API no-code when connected through us. You really get all the benefits of our platform (& of any 3rd party integrations made through our platform) without the upfront cost of 6+ months’ laborious engineering time. See example integrations here.

We are not a JavaScript snippet. We are not an API. We are not an SDK. Also, low-code is not no-code — read more on that bait and switch here.

How can you be no-code?

Our platform is deployed at the network level through a DNS or CDN config change that sends your traffic through our platform. We are an invisible layer between your end user and your website / API. There’s a really helpful diagram here.

Our install is up and running in 15 minutes or less. Industry leaders like Akamai, Fastly, Limelight, Edgecast, Imperva/Incapsula, and Cloudflare have been using this deployment model since the early 2000s to stop web application attacks and deliver content to end users all across the world. We’ve taken that model and applied it to fraud and security.

Where can I find documentation on your API?

We don’t have an API. We don’t have API docs. Our platform sits at the gateway in front of your website or API and is set up through code-free screens. Our platform can be deployed in 15 minutes and updated multiple times a day to meet your evolving needs.

Book a demo and let us show you how it works.

How do I test 3rd party vendors through your platform?

We can instantly deploy 3rd party Javascript or call any API in real-time throughout your end user’s journey across your website. This means you can A/B test vendors against each other on your live traffic and make better-informed decisions about which one to purchase.

This frees up your engineers from months of work trying to integrate a solution that ultimately doesn’t do everything you wanted. Our platform essentially makes those vendors no-code, too.

We don’t just integrate fraud vendors; we integrate everything.

If you proxy my web traffic, how do you handle availability?

We built our Trust Cloud with the highest availability and resilience standards in mind. We typically sit behind your CDN, or the primary origin for the traffic. In the event of a major catastrophe, our DNS provider would instantly reroute the traffic to your data center. Your end user wouldn’t notice a thing (but it’s likely you or your end user are impacted by the same severe outage).

Does the additional hop for the proxy impact performance?

The performance impact of our platform is as close to zero as it can get. Spec’s Trust Cloud is a single-tenant deployment that can be deployed in any cloud environment and region to minimize additional latency on the wire. Our core processing time is <1ms, and we have seen no more than 20ms of network latency in any customer deployment.

How secure are you?

Seeing all of our customer’s web traffic is a big responsibility, and we honor that. We are SOC 2 Type 2 compliant and in the process of achieving PCI DSS Level 1 compliance. We give you full control over what data gets sent to our platform and only store what you tell us to.

Each customer’s deployment is single-tenant, which means no data or hardware / architecture is shared between customers.

What scale can you handle?

Our platform is designed for hyperscale and automatically adjusts to meet the daily traffic demands of our customers. We’ve absorbed massive DDoS attacks without performance deterioration because our proxies can scale horizontally indefinitely. We have processed 1000 transactions per second while maintaining <1ms processing times.
